We are living in the age of technology. Technology is everywhere. We can not simply turn on a TV anymore or answer a phone as easily as we once did. There is so much more to these tasks than a simple switch. We all know how important computers are in our world. It is more vital than ever that children get as early of an exposure to computers as possible. As soon as school begins children are using computers. Many children begin using computers in preschool which gives them a definite advantage over the children that have not had that exposure. Throughout life we use our computers in all aspects. For that reason an early start on the keyboard will give children an advantage so they are more prepared for that all is in front of them. They need to be comfortable with the keyboard and the mouse so as they are introduced to these pieces of equipment in school they will be comfortable and familiar with them already. Comfort comes from familiarity. There is no better way to teach a child than to teach them with games. This is true with anything that is being taught. Everyone learns faster if they are having fun while doing it. If children are having fun they will not realize they are learning. Computer games not only teach our children to learn the computer but they also challenge the thinking skills of children. Joe Steranka is retiring after serving 25 years with the PGA. His replacement for the position of chief executive officer of the PGA of America is Pete Bevacqua. He was the former chief business officer of the US Golf Association. Joe will be missed but now that he is retiring maybe he will have more time to spend doing the sport he loves so much.

Getting into the swing of things is what our local golf course actually did. They held an event by that title and invited some of the top local golfers to play. They expected a small crowd but what they got was simply amazing. People came from all around to their course. What was once a slow business gold course has become so busy every day they had to enlarge their parking lot.

The World Golf Final is done and Justin Rose took it from Lee Westwood on Friday earning a $1.5m payoff. This was a career best in winnings for Rose. This eight player World Final was a game of many surprises and some records being hit as far as course records set by Westwood with a 61 score earlier in the week. This Turkish Airlines sponsored golf tournament was held in Belek, Turkey and has certainly been a game of back and forth for our favorites with Rose becoming the victor. Westwood receives $1m as well so he also has a good paycheck for a three day work week!
